My Philosophy Do a good job. Where it all Started Eric Powell Photography all started on the Christmas of 1994 when I received a Olympus 35Rc rangefinder. This was the camera that I learned the basic principles of photography on. Time pasted and in a few years that old rangefinder broke and my photography was put on the backburner for a while. It wasn't till 6 years later that I on a whim purchased a new camera. I went with the Canon Rebel 2000 AF which I bought at Bernie's Photo Center. That got me into full gear in the photographic arts. Within no time I had a full functioning darkroom out of my basement.(which I still us today) And since then I have just been perfecting my skills and learning the tricks of the trade. In the future I hope to leave the world of 35mm and enter the realm of large format, where I feel I can completely release my creative potential and reach a new level in image quality. My advice to anyone looking to get into the field is not to buy a damn thing from the guys and Bernie's Photo Center or Pittsburgh Camera Exchange. They are the biggest bunch of cheats in the industry. They look for the inexperienced or yuppie photographer and take you for everything you got. Every product they carry is marked 2 to 3 times over retail.
